Hi, I’m James Hanley, PE – an engineer turned real estate professional with a deep passion for blending technology, innovation, and, most importantly, people to create the spaces of the future. Over the years, I’ve led projects that drive meaningful change, and I’ve shared my insights at events like ‘1 Real Estate World’ and in CSE Magazine. My core belief is that while technology is a powerful tool, it’s the people behind it that truly make organizational transformation happen.

I’m currently a Senior Director at CBRE in New York, where I lead a global team of engineers and program managers focused on operations, innovation, digital transformation, and talent development. With an MBA from Baylor University in communication and experience at BuroHappold, I bring a unique perspective to shaping the future of real estate. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, golfing, and playing fantasy football. This March, I’ll be speaking at New York Build on “Digital Revolution: Why Digital Transformation Needs to be Accelerated,” where I’ll explore the costs AEC firms face for failing to transform and provide helpful tips on making digital transformation successful across all organizations.
